The “Home Connect” App builds a stronger support network for families with sick children.
Ronald McDonald House Charities Hong Kong (RMHC Hong Kong) announced on April 26 the official launch of the “Home Connect” mobile app, fully supported by the CTF Services Charity Foundation. Designed specifically for families with hospitalized children, the app streamlines accommodation management for house parents while keeping the public updated on RMHC’s latest initiatives—bridging love through technology to create a stronger support network.
To celebrate this milestone, RMHC Hong Kong hosted the “Charity Concert & App Launch Event” on April 26, 2025, at its Kwun Tong House. The event featured performances by renowned music producer Harry Ng, powerhouse vocalist Siu Fay, and rising star Ashley Lam. The concert was live-streamed on RMHC Hong Kong’s and Harry Ng’s social media platforms, with exclusive content later available on the “Home Connect” app to encourage downloads and engagement.
“We believe technology can bring people closer,” said Ms. Grace Fung Oei Wai Chi, Global RMHC Board Member and Chair of RMHC Hong Kong. “‘Home Connect’ is more than an app—it’s a bridge connecting compassion. We’re grateful for the CTF Services Charity Foundation’s unwavering support, which turned this vision into reality and reaffirms our ‘home away from home’ mission.”
Mr. Jim Lam, Executive Director and Group COO/CFO of CTF Services, emphasized the app’s role in enhancing support: “The CTF Services Charity Foundation is committed to fostering interconnected communities. ‘Home Connect’ elevates our service impact and unites cross-sector resources to better assist families in need.”
The concert kicked off with Harry Ng performing beloved children’s songs, followed by Siu Fay and Ashley Lam’s renditions of popular hits like “Every Tomorrow” and “Let It Be.” Both artists mingled with the audience, urging donations.
“This is my fourth visit to the House,” shared Siu Fay. “The Kwun Tong House, open for just 18 months, truly embodies a ‘home away from home.’” Ashley Lam, visiting for the first time, added: “I felt warmth and safety the moment I stepped in—this place radiates positivity.”
The event blended technology and charity into a heartwarming community celebration, attended by 150 guests, including partners like Hong Kong Baptist University and Tom Lee Music. Families sang along, children waved phone lights to the music, and instant donations poured in—embodying the spirit of “Technology Connects Love.”
“Seeing families smile together is the essence of our ‘keep families close’ mission,” Ms. Oei concluded. The evening closed on a poignant note, showcasing the power of collective compassion.
