We staunchly believe in the power of family unity, especially when battling illness. Our family-centric care model is meticulously designed to ensure families stay together, offering each other support during their child′s hospital stay. To alleviate the stress of commuting, we provide a complimentary shuttle service to and from the Hong Kong Children′s Hospital. This way, parents can concentrate their energies on their child′s care, fostering a sense of togetherness that is integral to the recovery process.
A Haven of Routine Amidst Chaos
Despite the upheaval a serious illness can bring, our RMH strives to maintain a sense of normalcy for families. Our facility is well-equipped for everyday routines, complete with a kitchen, library, dining room, living room, study room, and laundry facilities. Recognizing the financial constraints that can accompany illness, we offer accommodations at a modest administration fee with referral from Medical Social Workers.
An Extended Network of Support
Our extended family of volunteers, donors, and staff unite to alleviate financial stress for families in need. We organize a variety of activities, including playgroups, English classes, art classes, yoga sessions, festival celebrations, and birthday parties. Further, we welcome in-kind donations like supermarket gift vouchers, new toys, and fresh organic vegetables, bringing smiles to the faces of families staying at the House.

Eligibility
Caring for a seriously ill child can be challenging, costly, and sometimes, terrifying. RMH is committed to assisting families with seriously ill children in staying close during these trying times.
Any patients admitted to local hospitals under the Hospital Authority are eligible to stay at RMH. RMHC Hong Kong provides accommodations for families with seriously ill children who are 18 years of age or younger. Families can discuss their desire to stay at RMH with their Medical Social Worker (MSW).
An application must be completed by:
- A medical professional (doctor, nurse)
- Medical Social Worker from the referring facilities or HA hospitals.
- Social Worker or other referral parties
Application Procedures:
- Fill in your application through the above referring parties.
- Call the Referring Parties to ensure the application has been sent to RMHCHK.
- Upon receipt of the application, RMHCHK will review and assess the recommendations from the Referring Party based on a scoring system.
- Qualified families will be informed of the room availability and admission arrangement.
- Families will be included in the waiting list when no room is available.
