With immense gratitude for the generous contribution of HKD 387.55 million from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, the inauguration of the 2nd House, RMHC (Kwun Tong House) Jockey Club Building took place in November 2023.
Mr. Lester G Huang SBS, JP (left), Director of The Hong Kong Jockey Club, and Ms. Michelle Ong, JP (right), Member of the Global Ronald McDonald House Charities Board and Chair of the Hong Kong Ronald McDonald House Charities Board, unveil the Ronald McDonald House (Kwun Tong) Jockey Club Building.
The establishment of Kwun Tong House owes its inception to the steadfast support of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, various charitable organizations, and individuals, collectively enabling the expansion of services for this “home away from home.”
Present at the opening ceremony were distinguished personalities such as Mr. Chris Sun, JP, the Secretary for Labour and Welfare of the HKSAR, Dr. LEE Ha Yun, Libby, JP, the Acting Director of Health of the HKSAR, Mr. Lester G Huang, SBS, JP, the Board of Stewards of The Hong Kong Jockey Club Ms. Grace Fung OEI Wai Chi, the Global Ronald McDonald House Charities Board Member and Chair of the HK Ronald McDonald House Charities Board Mr. FAN Hung Ling, Henry, SBS, JP, Chairman of the Hospital Authority, Dr. KO Pat Sing, Tony, JP, Chief Executive of the Hospital Authority, Dr LEE Tsz-Leung, MH, Hospital Chief Executive of Hong Kong Children’s Hospital, Prof. Randy Lai, Founding Mission Partner & CEO of McDonald’s Hong Kong, Ms. Imelda Chan, Head of Charities (Health & Community) at The Hong Kong Jockey Club, Mr. Raymond Wong, Chairman of the Ronald McDonald House Charities Building Committee, and Ms. Karen Cheung, Chair of the Ronald McDonald House Charities Development Committee. Together, they marked the momentous occasion with a dedication to fostering a sense of home away from home.
