The Mid-Autumn Festival, a cherished time for reunion and blessings, was filled with even more warmth this year at RMHC Hong Kong. We proudly hosted the “Sharing Love This Festival: Reunion Lanterns” activity, inviting compassionate volunteers to join hospitalized children and their families in crafting traditional Mid-Autumn lanterns—beautiful Octagonal Lanterns and playful Starfruit Lanterns. These heartfelt crafting sessions brought smiles to children’s faces and bestowed festive blessings and strength to every family.
Guided by professional instructors, participants joyfully created their lanterns, each one a symbol of love and well-wishing. Whether assembling the vibrant Octagonal Lantern or the charming Starfruit Lantern, volunteers and families shared precious moments, exchanging stories and warmth in a lively, joyful atmosphere.
The finished lanterns adorned hospital wards and the House, spreading festive cheer and light throughout every corner. Held on August 30 and 31 at the Kwun Tong House, the event welcomed nearly 300 participants who experienced firsthand the healing power of reunion and care.
This Mid-Autumn Festival, let us continue to share love through handmade crafts, bringing hope and brightness to every brave child and their family.
