“Embracing Wisdom in Life’s Final Chapter” Seminar Successfully Concluded.
Facing life’s final chapter often brings uncertainty and fear, along with challenges in estate planning. These unknowns, however, serve as motivation to act with foresight. The “Embracing Wisdom in Life’s Final Chapter” seminar, hosted by RMHC Hong Kong – Kwun Tong House, drew a large audience with lively discussions and active participation.
The seminar began on April 12 at 10:00 a.m., with Mr. Wong, a cultural consultant, presenting An overview of Hong Kong funeral customs. Using vivid examples and humorous anecdotes, Mr. Wong provided attendees with a deeper understanding of traditional Chinese funeral practices. The engaging session was filled with laughter and thoughtful discussions.
Following this, Ms. Ryanne Lai, a practicing lawyer in Hong Kong, shared insights through her talk. Ms. Lai emphasized the importance of wills, enduring powers of attorney, and advance directives. She also highlighted estate donations to charities as a common and meaningful option. The audience actively participated, raising numerous questions that reflected their keen interest in the topic.
This successful seminar not only raised awareness of the wisdom needed to navigate life’s final chapter but also encouraged participants to prioritize estate planning. Since 2024, RMHC Hong Kong has launched the ” Legacy Giving Program”. The program invites the public to leave a legacy of love by donating their estate to support critically ill children and their families. Contributions to this program help provide temporary housing, psychosocial support, and transportation to and from hospitals, allowing families to face challenges together.
If you are considering leaving a legacy, we invite you to support us in creating warmth and hope for children in need and their families.
