The second session of “Star Chef Lai Lok Yi’s Kitchen of Love” was successfully held on June 20, 2025, at RMH Shatin. Popular artist and star parent Lai Lok-yi returned to lead the activity, joining professional bakers from Orchid Padaria and Love Companions in a meaningful, healthy baking class.
The event was generously supported by Uni-China Group and Hong Kong Market, who sponsored fresh ingredients and provided volunteers to help prepare a nutritious dinner designed by Lai Lok-yi. Participating families not only learned baking skills but also enjoyed a warm dinner together, sharing experiences and tips on caring for children with special dietary needs.
During the activity, Lai Lok-yi sincerely shared his parenting journey, encouraging parents to prioritize their own well-being while caring for their children. He emotionally expressed: “It’s truly rewarding to see parents dedicating themselves to preparing healthy snacks for their children. I hope this activity provides a relaxing break from their busy caregiving routines and helps them feel the support from our community.” Participating families reported that the event not only taught them to prepare simple healthy snacks but also brought joyful moments to their children.
The “Star Chef Lai Lok Yi’s Kitchen of Love” series aims to provide additional social support for families with sick children while promoting healthy eating habits. RMHC Hong Kong will continue this meaningful initiative with a third session scheduled for September this year.
The Love Companions serves as an important project connecting former and current resident families. Through regular activities, it facilitates the sharing of experiences and mutual support, creating a continuous cycle of care and compassion. The foundation extends sincere gratitude to all partners and volunteers who contribute to building a warm support network for families in need.
