Seasons Greetings from Sophie
This Christmas, we sincerely invite you to witness the extraordinary spirit of a brave girl named Sophie, who had been diagnosed with leukemia earlier this year; Her illness hasn’t dampened her optimistic nature or her will to spread joy and positivity around her. Sophie and her mother want to share their story and help those in need. Despite facing significant challenges, Sophie continues to brave hospital visits in her school uniform, maintaining a sense of her childhood in school.
During her MRI checkup, which lasted up to 45 minutes, Sophie chose not to take any anesthetic while managing to stay still. She used earplugs to lessen the machine noise and humorously kept them as a souvenir, turning a serious moment into a light-hearted one. The medical staff affectionately called Sophie “pistachio” (remark: “Pistachio,” the English translation of the Chinese term “happy-go-lucky,” metaphorically highlighting her unwavering positive energy), perfectly reflecting her spirit.
Sophie showed unlimited creativity and kindness by designing a unique T-shirt for the team at RMHC. Let’s share Sophie’s positive energy and warm hearts. Thank you for being part of our RMHC family. Wishing you and your loved ones a joyful and loving Christmas!
