This Mid-Autumn Festival, let handmade lanterns become a bridge of love and hope, lighting up the hearts of every family.
The Mid-Autumn Festival is a time for reunion and blessings, and this year, Ronald McDonald House Charities Hong Kong (RMHC HK) infused the occasion with even more warmth! We specially hosted the “Sharing Love This Festival: Reunion Lanterns” activity, inviting caring volunteers to join hospitalized children and their families in making traditional Mid-Autumn lanterns—Octagonal Lanterns and Starfruit Lanterns. Through these heartwarming crafting sessions, not only did the children smile, but each family also received festive blessings and strength.
On the day, professional instructors guided participants in lantern-making. Whether it was the colorful Octagonal Lantern or the playful Starfruit Lantern, each creation carried love and good wishes. Volunteers and families enjoyed quality time together, sharing stories and warmth in a joyful atmosphere.
The finished lanterns were used to decorate the wards and the House, spreading festive warmth to every corner. The event took place on August 30 and 31 at the Kwun Tong House, attracting nearly 300 participants who collectively witnessed the power of reunion and care.
This special Mid-Autumn Festival, let’s share love through handmade crafts, bringing hope and brightness to every brave child and their family.
