Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate and maintain Family Centered Care and home-like atmosphere to sick children and families.
- Assist House Manager in overseeing daily house operations and handling family issues. All key issues must be well documented.
- Assist in drafting and revising Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) of House Operations.
- Maintain good coordination and relationships with doctors, medical social workers and other professionals on referral procedures, prioritization of cases, confirmation procedures and length of stay evaluation, etc.
- Work collaboratively with Development Team and Volunteer Program Team on fundraising events, PR functions and volunteer programs, and with Shatin House Team on operation and family issues.
- Ensure all incidents and accidents are properly investigated, reported and followed-up. Conduct regular check-up to ensure the service quality and effectiveness.
- Assist in monitoring expenditure of the House. Strictly follow the budget and procurement policy for purchases and out-sourced services.
- Ensure all supplies and in-kind donations are properly cared for and used.
Requirements:
- Higher diploma, associate degree and/or degree holder preferably in Social Work or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in child and family residential services.
- Experience in serving people, especially children and youth with serious illness is highly preferred.
- Experience in working at international charity is an advantage.
- Good problem solver and team player, ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to deal with challenging or confrontation behavior, handle sensitive and confidential situations.
- Proficiency in both English and Chinese, written and verbal. The ability of speaking Mandarin is an advantage.
- Hands-on knowledge of MS Office applications.
- Working in shifts, including weekends and public holidays when needed.
